Arkansas State won the season opener, 14-5, before splitting a doubleheader to complete the series. After hitting over .300 last year, Ty White is back for his senior season. He posted a .308 batting average over the weekend, recording a team-high four hits.
ASU will hand the ball to redshirt-senior Cody Jackson Tuesday afternoon. The right-hander will face the Rebels after pitching 2.2 scoreless innings against UAB. The probable pitching matchup for today showcases the right-handed arm of Cody Jackson for the Red Wolves. While coach Mike Bianco will send freshman James McArthur to the mound.
These two teams are no strangers to one another on the diamond as today’s game will be the 92 meeting all-time. Ole Miss leads the series 70-21 last season the Rebels defeated the Red Wolves by a score of 17-3 in seven innings.
