Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, February 25
Tyrone Tillman – Credit Card Fraud
On November 26, Oxford police officers took a report of a credit card fraud. The suspect stole a wallet from Walmart and then used the credit cards at different locations. That suspect was identified as Tyrone Tillman, 19 of Coffeville, and then a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 24, the police located and arrested Tillman. On February 25, Tillman was taken before Judge Avent for his initial appearance and the judge set his bond at $2,500.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five suspicious activities, four ambulance assists, three alarms, three disturbances, two petit larcenies, a motorist assist, a public intoxication, a 911 hang up call, a scam, and an improper parking.
Oxford police investigated five wrecks, issued 39 traffic citations and made seven arrests on the following charges:
Warrant served
Public intoxication
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Careless driving and minor in possession
DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia
Littering, minor in possession and fake ID
Careless driving, no insurance and minor in possession
University police responded to the following incidents a service call for an ambulance with a possesison of alcohol by minor and a fake ID at Brown Hall, an intoxicated person on Rebel Drive, a harassment and emergency medical services requested at Crosby Hall, a public drunk with a fake ID on Rebel Drive, a service call about a suspicious person at Alpha Omicron Pi house, a possession of alcohol by minor at Deaton Hall, and a larceny of bicycles at Kincannon Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Heat duct detector activation at 2:45 p.m. by cooking at the Phi Mu house
Smoke detector malfunction at 11:30 p.m. at LaRousse
