Howard Nunnally – Aggravated Domestic Violence, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon

On Friday February 26, 2016, the Oxford police department arrested Howard Nunnally (24 of Kingsport, TN). The police arrested him as a result of the victim’s coworkers reporting the assault. Upon arrival, the victim told the police that her boyfriend, Nunnally, assaulted her at her apartment. The police then went to her apartment to locate Nunnally who fled on foot. Upon catching him, the police found a firearm and $5,000 worth of counterfeit money. Nunnally is now on hold for multiple agencies out of Tennessee for Armed Robbery and Statutory Rape. His bond was set at $25,000.

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 13 suspicious activities, five welfare concerns, five disturbances, three alarms, two fire department assists, two complaints of lost property, two illegally parked vehicles, a noise violation, a 911 hang up call, a careless driver, an identity theft and a petit larceny.

Oxford police investigated eight wrecks, issued 20 traffic citations and made three arrests on the following charges:
No seatbelt and suspended driver’s license
One headlight, suspended driver’s license and DUI
Ran red light and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle

University police responded to the following incidents: six vehicle stops, motor vehicle auto theft at Pi Kappa Alpha house, harassing phone calls at J.D. Williams Library, and a petit larceny at Track and Field House.

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following call: a smell of gas at 5:58 p.m. at Oxford Elementary due to a janitor putting Drano down the classroom sink
