Oxford Crime Report: Friday – Sunday, May 20 – 22 – DUI, Child Endangerment


Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 12 suspicious activities, nine alarms, eight disturbances, three fire department assists, three 911 hang up calls, two complaints of lost property, two reported careless drivers, two petit larcenies, two reported careless drivers, two animal complaints, two welfare concerns, two motorist assists, two littering, a noise violation, a shoplifting, a simple assault, a malicious mischief, harassing phone calls, a recovered property, a illegally parked car and a auto burglary at East Jackson Avenue.

Oxford police investigated 10 wrecks, issued 31 traffic citations and made 12 arrests on the following charges:
(2) DUIs
(2) Shoplifting
(2) Public intoxication
Careless driving and DUI
Public intoxication and fake ID
DUI and child endangerment (due to DUI)
Open container and suspended driver’s license
No driver’s license, failure to yield to emergency vehicle and DUI
No insurance, expired tag, possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI

University police responded to the following incidents:
Friday, May 20
Vehicle stop on Chucky Mullins Drive
Report of a suspicious person at Super Computer Center
Possession of drug paraphernalia at Campus Walk Apartments
Saturday, May 21
(2) Vehicle stops on Rebel Drive and Old Taylor Road
Suspicious vehicle on Chucky Mullins Drive
Sunday, May 22
(2) Public drunks
Disturbance on Fraternity Row
Vehicle accident on university grounds
Suspicious vehicle with possession of drug paraphernalia at Campus Walk
Moving violation per improper equipment and suspended license on Hathorne Road
