On June 15, Oxford police investigators arrested Daniel Gates (22 of Oxford) for two counts of residential burglary (97-17-23) that occurred in the Grand Oaks Subdivision on May 20, 2016. He was given a bond of $20,000.

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five suspicious activities, four alarms, three disturbances, two reported DUI drivers, two animal complaints, a civil matter, a shoplifting, an embezzlement, a 911 hang up call, a petit larceny, a welfare concern and a motorist assist.

Oxford police investigated four wrecks, issued 40 traffic citations and made three arrests on the following charges:
Warrant served
Disturbing the peace and public intoxication
Expired tag and possession of drug paraphernalia

University police department responded to the following calls: a suspicious vehicle in Kincannon Field Lot, a service call for information at Coliseum Circle, a vehicle wreck on Rebel Drive and a vehicle wreck at National Center for Natural Products Research.

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Small fire at 9:04 a.m. that happened in a box of papers in a resident’s home office at 108 Rosemont Loop
Smoke detector activation at 11:01 a.m. due to workers cutting sheet rock at Croft Institute
Alarm at 4:08 p.m. due to burned food at The Rooster’s
Alarm at 5:12 p.m. due to workers testing the alarm system at the Clubhouse
Water flow alarm malfunction at 5:37 p.m. due to a power surge at Hefley Hall
