Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five alarms, five suspicious activities, three disturbing the peace, a motorist assist, a parking complaint, a trespassing, a littering complaint, an open door, a malicious mischief, an animal complaint and a careless driving complaint.
Oxford police investigated one wreck, issued 54 traffic citations and made five arrests on the following charges:
Ran a stop sign with a suspended driver’s license
Careless driving, suspended driver’s license and DUI to first degree
Disturbing the peace, DUI to first degree and suspended driver’s license
Suspended driver’s license, implied consent, careless driving and no insurance
University police responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops, two vehicle accidents on Rebel Drive and Poole Drive, a public drunk with indecent exposure at Pittman Hall, and a service call for an ambulance at National Food Service Management Institute.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Alarm at 8:00 a.m. due to burned food at Canterbury Crest 105
Public assist at 8:08 a.m. by helping get spilled white paint off the street at Chucky Mullins Drive
Fire alarm at 8:23 a.m. that was set off by someone accidentally bumping the pull station at the Diagnostic Center
Cancelled call at 9:59 a.m. at B&B Concrete
Heat duct malfunction at 2:08 p.m. at Hermitage Gardens
Smoke detector activation at 2:34 p.m. set off by the workers at Northgate Apartments
Smoke detector malfunction at 6:22 p.m. at Alpha Tau Omega house
Public assist at 8:23 p.m. at 1301 Access Road
Smoke detector activation at 8:27 p.m. due to cooking at Country Club of Oxford
