Eugenia Reagan Bramlett McLaurin Dies at 94

Eugenia Reagan Bramlett McLaurin, 94, passed away Sunday at her home in Oxford. The funeral service will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in West Hall at the funeral home.

Born in Oxford, Miss to the late Eugene Sherman and Janie Marie Reagan Bramlett, Mrs. McLaurin was the owner of the Kangaroo’s Pouch prior to retirement. She was a member of Oxford-University United Methodist Church. She had a love for music which she fulfilled through teaching piano and being involved in honorary musical societies. Mrs. McLaurin was a realtor. She was also a member of Phi Mu sorority.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. John Purves McLaurin, Jr. of Oxford, MS; seven sons, John Purves McLaurin, III and his wife Carol of Burke, GA; Eugene Bramlett McLaurin and his wife, Brenda of Savannah, GA; Robert Carter McLaurin of Oxford, MS; James Reagan McLaurin and his wife, Net of Thailand; Walter Robyn McLaurin and his wife, Barbara of Oxford, MS; Timothy Steidley McLaurin of Gainesville, FL and David Brian McLaurin and his fiance Teresa of Taylor, MS; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
