It’s been a ten-year dream of co-owners and brothers Ben and Will Ulmer to open a restaurant in Oxford. That dream was finally realized when Beagle Bagel Café opened in August.
The Ulmer’s were on hand Tuesday to be welcomed as official members of the Oxford–Lafayette County Chamber Commerce during a ribbon cutting ceremony. An array of items was available for chamber members to sample ranging from bagels, spreads, pastries and various other bakery goods.
Beagle Bagel is also the first restaurant to provide free Apple iPads for customers to use.
iPads connected to free wifi are mounted on a long counter top where customers can enjoy their drink and meal.
The Ulmer family also operates two other Beagle Bagel locations in Jackson and Madison, Mississippi.
“Oxford’s been great,” Ben Ulmer said. “We’re enjoying the people. Learning all the new friendly faces. We’re ready for Bama week and see how crazy that gets.”
