The Farmer’s Market is officially closing on October 5. The Farmers Market officially opened on June 4 2004, and since has been a beloved place in the community.
Anyone who had been to the Farmer’s Market immediately fell in love with the local products from the dairy and poultry to the locally made spreads.
Every time one walks in, he or she is greeted with a friendly smile. For undergrad and graduate students it was the only place you could go to get affordable fresh produce while on a budget.
The Farmer’s Market will always hold a special place in the hearts of the community.
The owner Liz Stagg, was saddened by the closing but still had a very positive attitude.
When asked what she was going to do with the left over produce, she said, “I’m going to give the perishable items to local restaurants and the nonperishable to local food banks.”
She also said that the first thing she is going to do after the store closes is sleep.
A Farmer’s Market cashier said, “There will definitely be a hole missing in the community when the Farmer’s Market closes.”
These flyers are posted on the door of the Farmer’s Market. Make sure to go by and leave your farewell.
