Rep. Jay Hughes: Mental Health & Budget Crisis Averted?

Published

on

Time to see if leadership will put money where it belongs – instead of more tax cuts.

Atty. General Hood delivered a $34 Million check today to the MS Treasurer (from settlement with pharma co that cheated MS medicaid). That is more than enough to restore devastating cuts to mental health, our poorest schools, vets, etc.

Mental Health took an $8 Million cut and had to eliminate beds for the most vulnerable, and locks others at night behind doors with padlocks and no sprinkler system for fires.

Now it is time to see what really matters when we follow this $34 Million.
