RebelTHON Hosts Spirit Week 2016
RebelTHON hosts Spirit Week in front of the Union to bring more awareness on campus.
Executive director Marianne Schmidt said Spirit Week for RebelTHON is important because it is a week to bring more awareness to the campus, residents of Oxford and those outside of Oxford.
“We are in front of the Union every day this week promoting our name with fun activities. Thursday we have an event called Meet the Hospital where people get the chance to have Batson come to them,” Schmidt said. “Saturday for game day we have about five Batson families coming to hang with us at the Grove.”
For the end of Spirit Week, there will be Fall For The Kids Day, Sunday, November 6 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Lafayette High School Gym. The open event is free to anyone in the Oxford/Lafayette area.
Schmidt said, “Spirit Week is to show people that RebelTHON is not some distant cause, but something that makes a real change and helps kids of Mississippi get out of the hospital so that one day they can come to Ole Miss to be a Rebel.”
