Thacker Mountain Radio Presents the 4th Annual Holiday Party
Thacker Mountain Radio Hour is all set to host their annual Holiday Member party tonight, Dec. 2, on the Square. The fun will take place at The South Side Gallery, and doors are set to open at 6 p.m. Members of Thacker Mountain Radio will enjoy a free entry to the party, and individual tickets are being sold for $50 and a discounted price of $10 for students.
The night of holiday fun will include music, signature cocktails and a silent auction. The famous Thacker Mountain Radio house band, The Yalobushwhackers, will be providing the holiday party with music. Bandleader Paul Tate and company are expected to bring the holiday spirit with classic holiday songs and a rocking set list.
The night will go from loud to quiet as soon as the silent auction begins. This year, Thacker Mountain Radio boasts a large array of prizes that will be auctioned off in hopes of raising money for the further production of the nineteen-year-old radio show.
“Last year we raised $13,580,” executive director Kate Teague said. “Our goal this year is to surpass last year’s number.”
The silent auction will have a number of unique items for sale, including a VIP Double Decker bus tour of Oxford, pieces from local artists, a rare bourbon-tasting event and a ghost tour of Oxford. For the complete list of items, visit Thacker Mountain Radio’s Facebook page.
Friday will mark the fourth year of Thacker Mountain Radio’s Holiday Member party. Everyone is encouraged to attend and share the holiday spirit. Non-members will be given the opportunity to become a member at the door.
