School Funding Reality Check

Opinion by Jay Hughes.

Broken promises?

Remember when the secret deal with EdBuild was announced, the Lt. Gov and Speaker were proud to announce that there would be many public meetings and hearings before EdBuild reached whatever conclusion would replace the perpetually underfunded MAEP?

They also reported that the work by the NJ company EdBuild would be ready for the start of the legislative session on January 3rd so it could be considered.

We are now three weeks away from the start of the next legislative session.
There has not been a single public meeting yet, anytime, anywhere in the state where the public could ask questions or learn what is actually going on with EdBuild.

These are your tax dollars and public schools – not a social experiment.
