On October 4, 2014, the Grove overflowed with fans as Ole Miss beat Alabama in a historic win. But, one Ole Miss fan was taking home much more than a team win.
Erin Wall’s now brother-in-law arrived at the Grove at 5 a.m. in hopes of having his sign featured on television. Wall and her husband arrived at 7:30 a.m.
“My husband was behind me and asked if I could see the signs, which I couldn’t,” Wall said. “He picked me up, and I saw a sign that read ‘Erin, are you ready?'”
In confusion, Wall wondered why anyone would care for this sign to be on television.
“Suddenly, another sign appeared that said ‘to marry Edward,'” Wall said. “When I turned around, he was on one knee and asked me to marry him. Clearly, I said yes. I love our story and the fact that we got engaged in ‘our happy place.'”
