Radio Shack's Oxford Location Closes Doors Today

The Radio Shack located on Jackson Avenue will close its doors for the final time at 8 p.m. The Oxford location is one of 185 stores closing nationwide this week. Merchandise currently in the store is being sold at a discounted rate, and unsold items will be packaged and sent to other locations.
Only two employees remain at the location, and after working at the store for five years, Merchell Boston was given a two weeks notice on the closing of the store. With the abrupt closing, Boston hopes to receive clarity from members of the corporate offices who’ll be coming to town after the closing.
“We don’t have a plan at the moment, but we’re working on seeing what’s going to happen. We’ll be here cleaning up and talking with them over the next few days about what will be going on with us,” Boston said.
The merchandise in the store is being sold as-is, and all sales are considered final.
