According to a Fox Sports report, former Ole Miss offensive coordinator Dan Werner has been hired by Alabama. Werner will serve as an analyst on the Crimson Tide staff alongside new OC Brian Daboll.

Werner was let go after the Rebels’ 5-7 season ended along with many others from the staff. Werner’s offense did manage to score 43 points against the stout Crimson Tide defense in back-to-back seasons. Ole Miss was able to beat Alabama in 2014 and 2015, but despite scoring 43 points in 2016, the Rebels fell 48-43.
During his five years as an OC at Ole Miss, the Rebel offense thrived until Werner’s final season. In 2015, the offense set school records for points scored (531), touchdowns (68), total offense (6,731) and more. The Rebels also led the SEC in scoring (40.8), total offense (571.8 YPG) and passing (334.7 YPG) on their way to a Sugar Bowl victory.
