Irma is already a category five storm with winds of up to 185 mph making it one of the most powerful Atlantic storms ever recorded, according to CNN.
Florida Governor, Rick Scott declared a state of emergency for all 67 counties and issued several evacuation warnings for the residents of the sunshine state.
“I cannot stress this enough: Do not ignore evacuation orders,” Scott said during a morning news conference. “We can rebuild your home, but we cannot rebuild your life. Take what you need, but only what you need.”
Irma has made its way over Puerto Rico. While Florida prepares for the worst, weather.com has stated that “there is still uncertainty which areas may be hardest hit” and “details on Irma’s impact for the rest of the Southeast U.S. remain uncertain.”
