NFL Rebels Weekly Update 9.12

Here at OleMissSports.com, we are proud to update Rebel fans on the exploits of our former players who lace up their cleats on Sundays in the NFL. Ole Miss had a big presence in the league again this year There are currently 23 former Rebels on NFL rosters, including two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning, last year’s first-round draft picks Robert Nkemdiche, Laquon Treadwell and Laremy Tunsil, and 2017 first-round draft pick Evan Engram.
11 former Rebels made appearances in the first week of the 2017 season. Here’s a rundown of how each former Rebel performed in week one of the 2017 NFL Season:
#88 Quincy Adeboyejo | WR | Baltimore Ravens
Member of the Ravens’ practice squad.
#16 Cody Core | WR | Cincinnati Bengals
Tallied two receptions for 12 yards during the preseason. Was active, but did not see action in Cincinnati’s loss to Baltimore (20-0) in week one.
#38 Brandon Bolden | RB | New England Patriots
Tallied 33 rushing yards during the preseason. Saw action in week one as the Patriots fell to the Chiefs on Thursday Night Football.
#99 Fadol Brown | DE | Oakland Raiders
Contributed two tackles during the preseason. Did not contribute to Oakland’s 26-16 victory over Minnesota in week one.
#36 Trae Elston | S | Buffalo Bills
Tallied seven tackles during the preseason. Was active, but did not see action in Buffalo’s victory over the Jets (21-12) in week one.
#88 Evan Engram | TE | New York Giants
Totaled five receptions for 64 yards in the preseason. Made his regular season debut contributing four receptions with 44 yards in the Giants’ loss to Dallas (19-3).
#31 Mike Hilton | CB | Pittsburgh Steelers
Contributed seven tackles during the preseason. Made his first regular-season start contributing two tackles in the Steelers victory over the Browns (21-18).
#65 Lavon Hooks | DE | Pittsburgh Steelers
Member of the Steelers’ practice squad.
#77 John Jerry | OG | New York Giants
This marks Jerry’s eighth season in the NFL. Started at right guard in week one in the Giants’ loss to Dallas (19-3).
#93 D.J. Jones | DT | San Francisco 49ers
Made his first regular-season debut contributing one tackle in the 49ers loss to the Panthers (23-3).
#31 Derrick Jones | CB | New York Jets
Active, but did not contribute to the Jets’ 21-12 loss to the Bills in week one.
#6 Chad Kelly | QB | Denver Broncos
Placed on injured reserve.
#10 Eli Manning | QB | New York Giants
Began his 14th season in the NFL. Went 29 of 38 for 220 yards in a loss to Dallas, 19-3, in week one.
#70 Bobby Massie | OT | Chicago Bears
Started at tackle in the Bears’ loss to the Falcons (23-17).
#10 Donte Moncrief | WR | Indianapolis Colts
Started at wide receiver logging one reception for 50 yards in the Colts’ 46-9 loss to the Rams.
#90 Robert Nkemdiche | DT | Arizona Cardinals
Active, but did not see action in Arizona’s 35-23 loss to Detroit.
#78 JERMEY PARNELL | OT | Jacksonville Jaguars
Started at tackle in Jacksonville’s victory over the Texans (29-7).
#79 Bradley Sowell | OT | Chicago Bears
Contributed, but did not start in the Bears’ 23-17 loss to the Falcons.
#53 Carlos Thompson | LB | Los Angeles Rams
Placed on injured reserve.
#11 Laquon Treadwell | WR | Minnesota Vikings
Tallied four receptions for 45 yards during the preseason. Started in the Vikings first regular-season game recording one reception for seven yards in a win over the Saints.
#67 Laremy Tunsil | G | Miami Dolphins
Game postponed due to Hurricane Irma.
#17 Mike Wallace | WR | Baltimore Ravens
Began his ninth season in the NFL. Tallied one reception for 8 yards in Baltimore’s victory over Cincinnati 20-0.
#71 Channing Ward | DE | Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Game postponed due to Hurricane Irma.
