The Ole Miss Rebels football team opens up the 2017 conference slate this weekend as they take on Alabama inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Ole Miss comes into the week after a bye week. Last time on the field, the Rebels dropped a 27-16 heartbreaker to the Cal Bears.
Monday, coach Matt Luke met with local media in his weekly press conference and talked about the upcoming match with the nation’s number one team as well as how much respect he and the team have for coach Saban and the Crimson Tide.
“They’re No. 1 in the country for a reason,” Luke said. “They’re very good on offense, defense and special teams. It was impressive to watch them against Vanderbilt. They ran the ball really well. They’re running for over 300 yards per game, and the most impressive thing is they haven’t turned the ball over yet. That’s very, very impressive.”
Coach Wesley McGriff
Preparing to face Alabama’s offense and their ground attack:
“They have a sound running game,” McGriff said. “They do a tremendous job of being patient and getting the ball downhill.”
