Oxford Intermediate School (OIS) students and teachers raised over $25,000 — a new school record — during this year’s annual Apple Raffle fundraiser, where fifth and sixth graders sell raffle tickets to raise money that directly impacts school students and teachers. The grand monetary tally raised this year: $25,870.
With raffle tickets sold for $5 each, one lucky winner would win a $3,000 shopping spree at their leisure in a local Apple Store online: the fundraiser winner chooses from products such as iPhones, iPods, laptops, desktops, Bluetooth technology speakers, headphones, Apple TV, printers and many other Apple products. This year’s OIS Apple Raffle fundraiser winner is Oxford resident, Evelyn Spillers; OIS fifth grader Susanna Henderson won a $30 gift card for selling the winning ticket.
As part of the school fundraiser, OIS Apple Raffle fundraiser incentives are offered to students who sell the most tickets throughout the school and in their class. OIS students and teachers who netted some of the school fundraiser’s top-notch incentives include:
- Student winners of a $200 Apple gift card for the most raffle tickets sold: OIS fifth grader Claire Lowe and OIS sixth grader Captain Alexander.
- OIS teachers whose class collectively sold the most tickets: OIS fifth-grade English Language Arts teacher Ashley Hilton and OIS sixth-grade math teacher Jeff Jones
- iPad-mini winner, OIS fifth-grader Harper Gray; and, wireless Beats by Dr. Dre winner, OIS sixth grader Anne Scott.
Each school year, the OIS Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) spearheads the Apple Raffle fundraiser. Visit www.oxfordsd.org/OIS for more information on Oxford Intermediate School.
