It’s the "Green Pumpkin," Duncan Gray!

Bishop Duncan Gray

Twenty-five years ago this year, Rev. Duncan Gray III started the pumpkin tradition to raise money for the youth group at Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church.
Gray is pictured here with a pumpkin that actually grew over the summer in the churchyard. This has never happened before, making it the perfect gift to present him Sunday morning. Gray was rector of St. Peter’s and most recently, until his retirement, was Episcopal Bishop for the State of Mississippi.
From now until Halloween, people can stop by St. Peter’s and walk through the courtyard to find the perfect pumpkin.
