Oxford Man Arrested for Allegedly Strangling a Family Member

On October 7, officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to a residence on Booker Road for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers say they found that Eddie B. Booker, 37, of Oxford, had strangled a family member while at the residence.
Officers were advised that Booker left the residence prior to the officer’s arrival. Booker was located a short time later and was transported to Lafayette County Detention Center.
Booker was charged with felony child abuse, and bond was set at $15,000.
