Tailgate Tapout: Enjoy Blues, Brews & BBQ at Rebel Barn this Weekend

Mississippi Live Expo is bringing some tailgating fun of its own to Oxford this weekend.

Tailgating lovers can visit Rebel Barn for the first-ever Tailgate Tapout beginning at noon Friday, Oct. 20. With “Blues, Brews & BBQ” as the focus, the tailgating fun is set to take place each Friday and Saturday from noon until, and on Sundays from noon to 5 p.m., at Rebel Barn through Nov. 23.
Budweiser’s regional deejay, DJ Majik, will be providing music each weekend, and guests will be able to buy a Tapout bottomless cup for $15 while they enjoy some blues music and Rebel Barn’s barbecue.
Guests will be able to enter into a drawing for the grand prizes, which are to be given out on the day of the Egg Bowl, Nov. 23.
“We have huge prizes,” DJ Majik said. “We do a car giveaway, a cruise and the third prize is an iPad.”
On game days, guests can bring a lawn chair, sit back and watch the game on a 70-inch, high-definition widescreen TV. Bottomless cups will remain $15 until after kickoff. After kickoff, bottomless cups will cost $20.
With tailgating fun set to take place all weekend, DJ Majik expects Tailgate Tapout to be a hit in Oxford.
“I wanted to bring in a different flavor to Oxford,” DJ Majik said. “This is something I’ve been doing for a lot of years. I found that with good music, good food, our brand and prizes … people can enjoy themselves. I like seeing people smile and have a good time, and that’s what this is about.”
