Just prior to the 2017-2018 season tipping off for the Ole Miss Rebels basketball program, the injury bug struck redshirt freshman forward Karlis Silins.

Ole Miss announced on Wednesday that Silins re-injured his left knee, and it will require surgery. He will be out indefinitely.
Last season, Silins suffered an ACL injury to that same knee in December and missed the remainder of the season. Prior to going down with the injury, Silins played in eight games for the red and blue, where he averaged 0.5 points, 0.6 rebounds, 0.1 steals, 0.1 blocked shots and 4.9 minutes per game.
The Rebels season gets underway in an exhibition game against UNA at 3 p.m., Sunday, and the regular season starts November 10 against Louisiana.
