Oxford Grillehouse to Host Free Steak Dinner for Veterans on Sunday
Oxford Grillehouse, located at 114 Courthouse Square, will host two seatings for a special Veterans Recognition Dinner Sunday, November 12.
The free steak dinners will be offered at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Seating is limited, and veterans who wish to attend should send an email to veteransdinner@thegrillehouse.com. Attendees can bring one guest for a price of $15.
“I made my mind up to say thank you to our veterans in the best way I know how, and that’s through their stomach,” said Grillehouse owner Clint Boutwell, who co-hosts the event along with Ole Miss men’s basketball coach Andy Kennedy.
“When I told Coach Kennedy about it, he immediately wanted to be a part of it,” Boutwell said. “He wants to be there Sunday to say thank you and shake hands with everyone.”
Boutwell said the national anthem will be sung prior to each seating to honor our nation and its veterans. The dinner itself will be family-style, and attendees will be encouraged to share stories and memories.
