Update: Taylor Man Charged with Manslaughter in Fatal Shooting

Editor’s Note: This story has been updated since earlier today.
Jadarius Harmon, 22, of Taylor has been formally charged with manslaughter-culpable negligence in connection with the fatal shooting of an Oxford woman. A justice court judge set his bond at $10,000.
Oxford police announced earlier today they were investigating a fatal shooting that occurred within the city limits.
Laquisha Marshall, 19, of Oxford, was brought into Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi on Wednesday, Jan. 3, with a gunshot wound.
“An investigation ensued and determined that Jadarius Harmon … had shot Marshall in the back,” an OPD press release states.
Marshall was flown to The Med in Memphis, where she died shortly thereafter from her injuries, police say.
The Oxford Eagle reports the shooting took place at Burger King and may have been accidental.
“This is a terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Laquisha Marshall,” said Chief Joey East. “This incident is still under investigation and information will be limited.”
