Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke met with the media on Wednesday to discuss the outcome of National Signing Day. The Rebels finished the day in the top 25 in recruiting for this season.
“I am really proud of our staff,” Luke said. “Anytime you start where we started and finish in the top 25 in recruiting ranks is a real credit to the staff and the job they were able to do.”
Luke and his staff filled several positions starting with the quarterback spot as Matt Corral signed in December and is already on campus. The Rebels also picked up some depth at running back. At wide receiver, Luke said coach Peeler did a good job of selling that mentality of “NWO (Nasty Wideouts).”
Later in the day, Ole Miss picked up two more commits for the 2018 National Signing Day. The Rebels reeled in Noah Jefferson and Tylan Knight.
Jefferson comes to Ole Miss from Las Vegas and played at Arizona Western College and USC. He is a defensive tackle.
Knight hails from Pearl, Mississippi, and is a true hybrid athlete that shined in the Mississippi vs. Alabama game.
These two players along with the five earlier commits form Wednesday morning, the December signees and three walk-ons in Jacob Carter, James Coley and Ryan Drew will be ready to Lock the Vaught in the fall.
