The Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program and The Round Table of Oxford are hosting a fundraising event to benefit Memory Makers, a non-profit organization that seeks to help the senior community of Oxford, this Saturday.
“Memory makers has worked with the MBA program for many years and is a wonderful local charity that provides care for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia in Oxford,” Graduate student Sadie Victoria said. “My group felt very passionate about this cause because it affects so many people and changes so many lives.”
The non-profit organization hosts pottery classes, singing, dancing and others to create an enjoyable environment for its members which also creates time for the caretakers to run errands, Graduate student Megan Garner said.
“They rely solely on donations to stay functional,” Garner said, “And they do not like to request too much in dues, because they want everyone to feel welcome and invited to attend.”
Garner’s group is selling t-shirts, posters and other accessories that will feature 1919-1921 William Faulkner sketches from the Ole Miss yearbooks and select MBA apparel with a vintage flair to also raise funds for the non-profit organization.
The event at The Round Table will start at 1 P.M. and will be showing the Ole Miss baseball game against Vanderbilt.
Tickets for the event can be purchased here and t-shirts can be purchased here.
