UPDATE: Suspect from The Lyric Shooting Arrested

The Oxford Police Department announced that the shooter from The Lyric on April 27, 2018, is in custody. Desmond Bowen, 22 of Memphis, Tennessee, was arrested today, May 8, 2018, by his probation officer. He is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail pending extradition. Bowen will be charged with aggravated assault and felon in possession of a firearm. His bond will be set once he is booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center.

“We would like to thank the hard work of the OPD investigators, ATF, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Desoto County Sheriff’s Department, the Hernando Police Department, the Shelby County Probation Office and the U.S. Marshals. There were also numerous tips from the community that helped lead to the arrest of Bowen,” Captain Hildon Sessums said in a press release.
