Operation Fit Nation Brings “Healthy Halloween” to Lafayette High School
Operation Fit Nation’s “Healthy Halloween” event is back to provide an opportunity for children to learn the ropes of making healthier choices. The event will be held Friday, Oct. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lafayette High School.
Operation Fit Nation is an organization focused on empowering individuals and communities through community outreach programming to take control of their health. This event is designed to facilitate learning about healthy behaviors, like eating healthy and exercising, through active participation. This year’s event is in partnership with the Future Farmers of America organization at Lafayette High School.
“We hope to serve as a fun, safe, and educational alternative to the typical Halloween festivities in the community,” said Lawrence Muruako, founder of Operation Fit Nation.
“The Lafayette County High School Commons will be transformed into a child-friendly fun zone where they can play games, test their fitness and nutrition knowledge, get grab bags full of nutritious treats, get dental screenings and much more.”
Key sponsors for the event are RebelWell, Landshark Delivery, Smoothie King, Rebel Body Fitness, Charter Road Hospitality, The Children’s Dental Center, and Oxford Heart and Vascular Consultants.
Other sponsors include RedMed Urgent Clinic of Oxford, Mississippi Federal Credit Union, Bank of Commerce, North East Mississippi Electric Power Association, Shell Plastic Surgery, Sayle Oil, Corelogic-FNC, GNC, mTrade, GreenServ, Jumping Jacks Inflatables and Party Rentals, Tallahatchie Gourmet, Kroger Oxford, Community Church of Oxford, and Bridge & Watson, Inc.
