OPD Investigates Shots Fired at Lafayette Place

The Oxford Police Department is investigating a report of gunshots that damaged a vehicle at Lafayette Place Apartments Monday.

According to reports, at about 6:30 p.m., officers responded to Lafayette Place for a report from someone who said they heard gunshots. Officers discovered a vehicle that had been hit in the bumper and 10 .22 caliber casings were found around the scene.

No one was injured.

Witnesses said they saw two people in a vehicle that could be suspects. The first is a black man described to have “tall hair” and a second suspect is described as a black man with medium-length dreads.
