The League of Women Voters Oxford/North Mississippi presented two $500 cash scholarships to graduating seniors at Lafayette High School and Oxford High School this year.
Receiving the award were Kayhan Freelon from Oxford High School, who plans on studying art at the University of Mississippi, and Caleb Lafferty, who will attend Brown University in the all.
The scholarships are the Dianne Smith Fergusson scholarships, given in honor of the founding president of the LWVOXNMS who re-established the League in Oxford in 2017.
The awards are given to graduating seniors who have shown exceptional accomplishments, leadership and potential for impacting their community.
