From AT&T

AT&T internet customers in parts of Oxford, Lafayette County and Water Valley found themselves unable to access the World Wide Web today.

According to Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley, AT&T reported a major outage that is affecting many areas in north Mississippi. Presley said it appears a fiber line was cut or that there is a malfunction in the company’s U-Verse system.

“They are working on it, but repairs may take up to 48 hours,” Presley said on Facebook.

According to AT&T’s website, the outage is affecting more than 200 people in Oxford and Lafayette County.

AT&T customers have been directed to call 1-888-990-0097 to receive a credit to their account.
