Oxford Crime Report: Friday – Sunday, February 13 – 15

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 21 suspicious persons, 20 disturbances, 12 service calls, 10 alarms, eight fire department assists, eight welfare concerns, four animal complaints, three larceny, three 911 calls, two ambulance assists, two simple assaults, and two code enforcement complaints.

Oxford police investigated 29 wrecks, issued 127 traffic citations and made 27 arrests on the following charges: (6) public drunks; (3) minor in possession; (2) DUI to first degree with vehicle wrecking; (2) possession of drug paraphernalia; a shoplifting; a careless driving with failure to yield to blue lights and DUI to first degree as well as refusal of arrest; a driving with no head lights and a DUI to first degree with a suspended driver’s license; a speeding with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle with also a suspended license and a DUI to first degree and refusal of arrest; a public drunk with possession of false ID; a DUI to first degree; a minor in possession of alcohol with a fake ID; a speeding with no car tag nor car insurance but an out-of-jurisdiction warrant was served; a suspended license with an expired tag; a driving with no car insurance nor a driver’s license; a warrant served; and a driving with an expired tag and a suspended driver’s license.

University police responded to the following incidents: a possession of drug paraphernalia at Campus Walk, a petit larceny at the Union, an accidental hit and run at Hathorn Road, an accidental hit and run at Pi Kappa Alpha house, a service call for an ambulance at Campus Walk, a vandalism resulting in over $1000 in damages at Brown Hall, a disturbance at Campus Walk, and an intoxicated person at the Inn at Ole Miss.

Oxford Fire Department is currently responding to emergency calls.
