Ole Miss quarterback DeVante Kincade has decided to transfer.

Kincade, a third-year sophomore from Dallas, has decided to transfer closer to Texas to take care of his mother, which he announced on Instagram Monday night.

When Kincade decided to come play for Coach Hugh Freeze and the Rebels, he was a four-star commit and ESPN rated as the No. 12 dual-threat quarterback entering college.

He was a part of the three-quarterback competition for the starter position this past season. Junior college transfer Chad Kelly had gained the position over Kincade and Ryan Buchanan.

During the 2015 regular season, Kincade saw action in three games. He was 9-15 for 79 yards with a touchdown.
