Supporters of presidential candidate, Donald J. Trump, have cancelled the rally at the Colonel’s Quarter’s at Castle Hill for tonight, Feb. 3.

The rally was being held to organize a group of volunteers in Lafayette County to campaign for Trump before the Mississippi primaries on March 8. Supporters plan to reschedule the event at a later time.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency is reporting severe weather for today, Feb. 2, across the state.

“Risks: Damaging winds. Tornadoes and large hail possible. A strong tornado is possible mainly in the southern portion of the enhanced risk area,” MEMA said on the map.

The severe weather is expected to carry over the Oxford area from noon until 8 p.m.
