Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six suspicious activities, four 911 hang up calls, three alarms, three welfare concerns, two petit larcenies, two fire department assists, a disturbance, a noise violation, a domestic violence, a civil matter, a harassing phone call, a motorist assist, an illegally parked car, an auto burglary (University Avenue) and a burglary (The Highlands).
Oxford police investigated five wrecks, issued 28 traffic citations and made two arrests on the following charges:
Expired tag and possession of drug paraphernalia
No seatbelt, suspended driver’s license, no insurance and warrant served
Lafayette Sheriff’s department responded to the following incidents: 17 service calls, four suspicious activities, three traffic complaints, two accidents, two animal complaints, two disturbances, two frauds, an aggravated assault, an alarm, a malicious mischief, a welfare concern, a scam, a trespassing, a civil matter, a littering and a natural cause death.
Lafayette Sheriff’s department made one arrest on the following charge of driving with a suspended license.
University police responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops, a suspicious vehicle at Gertrude Ford Boulevard, a vehicle accident on Rebel Drive, and a moving violation per improper equipment with a suspended driver’s license.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Small fire at 6:40 a.m. in the spoiler area of a car at C.B. Webb Apartments
Water flow alarm malfunction and fire alarm malfunction at 1:06 p.m. at Lafayette Place Building 4000
Smoke detector malfunction at 2:02 p.m. at Residential College
