Ole Miss men’s golfer Braden Thornberry has taken to the links to compete in the PGA Tour’s RSM Classic at the Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons, Georgia. The tournament runs through Nov. 19.
Thornberry is the current NCAA Men’s Golf Champion. He earned his third PGA Tour appearance spot by winning the 2017 Jones Cup. The Olive Branch native stepped onto the PGA scene for the first time this summer at the Fed Ex ST. Jude Classic.
The RSM Classic made its debut in 2010 and is played on the Seaside Course and the Plantation Course. Thornberry knows the Seaside Course well – it’s the home of the annual SEC Men’s Golf Championship.
Thornberry will not be the only Ole Miss Rebel on the course at the RSM Classic, as Ole Miss All-American and PGA Tour pro Jonathan Randolph will join him. Randolph’s group teed off ten minutes before Thornberry’s start time of 11:30 a.m. They both started on the back nine of the Plantation Course.
