SEC Country.com: Ole Miss Crushes Ex-Coach Tommy Tuberville with Epic ‘Pine Box’ Message

This story was originally published on SECCountry.com.

Former Ole Miss football coach Tommy Tuberville spent his last several coaching years at the University of Cincinnati.

Tommy Tuberville once made a promise to Ole Miss. And the Rebels aren’t about to forget it.
The former Rebels coach (1995-98) infamously said they’d have to carry him out of Oxford in a pine box, only to up and leave Ole Miss for an opportunity to coach Auburn after the 1998 season.
It’s a statement from which coaches are still learning today. Don’t make a soundbite that will follow you wherever you go.
Some two decades later, Ole Miss is still throwing shade at Tuberville for that statement.
At 63 years old, Tuberville has transitioned to an ESPN color analyst role after being fired from his job at Cincinnati following the 2016 season. And on Saturday, his new job will lead him to Oxford once again.
Tuberville will be on the crew that calls the Ole Miss-Texas A&M game on ESPN2. And when the Rebels’ Twitter account went to announce that news on Monday, it didn’t miss the chance to take a swipe at Tuberville with a pine box reference.

Good stuff, Ole Miss. Good stuff.
