BREAKING NEWS: Holly Springs Man Held on $500,000 Bond in Oxford Shooting Spree

A 25-year-old Holly Springs man is being held under $500,000 bond on four charges related to Thursday’s shooting spree a half block from the Oxford police station.

Xzaien Shipp, 25, was charged with aggravated assault with use of a deadly weapon, drive-by shooting, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of marijuana with intent to sell, according to Lafayette County Justice Court records. Shipp is still being held at the Lafayette County Detention Center.
Shipp allegedly fired shots at the victim, Jeremy Long, after a fight between the two men took place outside of Rockette’s One Stop Express on Molly Barr Road around 4 p.m., Thursday. Oxford Police said Long was not injured.  
Shipp fled the scene but was arrested minutes later in the Star Package Store parking lot on West Jackson Avenue. Police recovered the gun used in the shooting.
