The Oxford Police Department announced this morning that charges are expected to be filed against a suspect in custody after an infant died this weekend.
At approximately 4 a.m. on Sunday, OPD responded to 1101 Frontage Road for an unresponsive infant. When officers arrived, they began CPR until emergency medical services arrived.
The infant was later pronounced deceased at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Investigators were called to the location and have one person in custody. Charges will be filed later today, according to OPD.
This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
