BREAKING NEWS: Strickland Pleads Guilty to Aggravated DUI, Sentenced

The morning of October 27, 2012, Ole Miss students John and Sarah Wheat were on their way home to Oxford after a Race For the Cure event in Tupelo. John, a 30-year-old Maryland native, and his sister, 24-year-old Sarah, died as a result of injuries received in a crash that took place on the 18th Street overpass on Highway 6-278. The driver of the black Tahoe that struck John and Sarah’s car was 21 year old John Howard Strickland Jr. of San Antonio, Texas.

Today, Strickland plead guilty to one count of aggravated DUI. Strickland was  sentenced to 25 years with 13 suspended.
