The Daily Crime Report for April 18

The Oxford Police Department investigated nine wrecks, 87 tickets and seven arrests, on the following charges: failure to yield to a traffic control device and suspended driver’s license; failure to yield to a traffic control device, suspended driver’s license, no proof of insurance, possession of a fake ID and possession of drug paraphernalia; first offense DUI and driving the wrong way on a one-way street; first-offense DUI; public drunk; suspended driver’s license, no seat belt and expired tag; and no driver’s license, no proof of insurance and no seat belt.
Oxford Police also responded to seven noise complaints, six ambulance assists, petit larceny, four disturbances, two malicious mischiefs, three harassing phone calls, suspicious vehicle, three suspicious persons, two alarms, suspicious activity, two welfare concerns, fire department assist and lost property.
The University Police Department responded to the following incidents Thursday, April 17: Drugs – possession of paraphernalia at Kincannon Hall, larceny at Stockard Hall, traffic assists at Tad Smith Coliseum and Coliseum Drive, hit-and-run accident, speeding, burglary – dwelling house unlawful entry, no force at Crosby Hall, serving a warrant at Stockard Hall, vandalism to vehicle at Kincannon Hall, grand larceny at Guyton Hall, vandalism to vehicle, suspicious person, careless driving, motor vehicle accident, ambulance needed, running stop sign and a disturbance – fight at the Baseball Field.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents Thursday, April 17: – Smoke alarm, at 642 Rebel Drive, at 11:15 a.m. – Fire alarm, no cause found, at 2154 S. Lamar Blvd., at 2:05 p.m.
