Oxonians Celebrate the Unveiling of Yokna Sculpture Trail

A sizable Oxonian crowd came out to the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Yokna Sculpture Trail in the Lamar Park Thursday afternoon.

There were free t-shirts handed out as the children enjoyed the large sculptures in the Lamar Park. This sculpture trail features 18 large pieces made by local artists and nationally-renowned artists from as far as New York and Texas. The trail stretches from the Rebel Sculpture Park at Meek Hall on university campus to the Powerhouse Sculpture Garden on University Avenue to the Lamar Park.

The Yokna Sculpture Trail may expand in the future, but this isn’t possible without donations. For those interested in helping with this endeavor may donate here.
