On Sunday, 30 Miss Mississippi Pageant contestants began a week of activities that will conclude Saturday night with the crowning of the new Miss Mississippi 2015 at the Vicksburg Convention Center.

Hopefuls for the crown began their pageant week with a trip to the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children in Jackson to deliver sequined tiaras, Children’s Miracle Network armbands and good cheer to young patients.

The contestants participate in the annual Miss Mississippi Parade at 7 p.m. tonight on Washington Street in downtown Vicksburg. Pageant preliminaries will take place Wednesday through Friday, and the televised crowning competition will air live Saturday night.

Miss Mississippi 2015 will compete in the national Miss America pageant.
