Top Activities To Attend During Ole Miss Homecoming Week
This week, Ole Miss is kicking it into high gear for Homecoming week. Student organizations are coming together to create the best one yet with many fun activities.
Almost all day, every day this week you can go to the Union and find something fun to do, but here are 7 things you will not want to miss!
Rebels Got Talent!
Tonight (Sept. 28) at 7 p.m. Come watch Ole Miss’s most talented on our very own Grove Stage! Students audition to be a part of this awesome show. The winner will receive $250. Student Activities Association will be hosting the show so you will not want to miss it.
Meet the Homecoming Court
Now is your chance to chat with Ole Miss Royalty. Thursday, Sept. 29 from 12 – 1 p.m. come talk to the Ole Miss Homecoming court at the Student Union Plaza. Get to know who is representing your school and maybe take a selfie or two.
Movie Series: Finding Dory
Thursday night at 8 p.m. grab some friends, blankets and chairs and head to the Grove for a movie night. “Finding Dory” will be projected on the Grove stage for all students to enjoy. Snacks will be provided, but you may also bring your own refreshments. If it happens to rain, relocation will be in Lamar 132.
Coffee with a Cop
Enjoy coffee, donuts and discussion with Ole Miss and Oxford’s finest at the Student Union Plaza. On Friday, from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. get to know who serves and protects us every day. This event is sponsored by the Black Student Union and the Student Activities Association.
Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally
Come out Friday at 5 p.m. at University Circle or The Square for Ole Miss’s Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally. All are welcome to enjoy the university’s very own cheerleaders, Rebelettes, and of course The Pride of the South. Plus see the wonderful Homecoming Court in style as they parade around Ole Miss and Oxford.
Homecoming Step Show
Come out and support the University of Mississippi National Pan-Hellenic Council. Friday at the Gertrude Ford Center come see a performance that will be very entertaining. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Get there early for a great seat. Tickets are available in the Union Box Office. They are $10 in advance, $15 at the door and there is a $7 Greek discount. You will not want to miss this!
Everybody’s Formal
Associated Student Body is proud to host Everybody’s Formal this Friday from 9 p.m. to midnight. The name speaks for itself. Everyone is welcome. Bring a date or come with a group of friends. Students can get their free tickets at the Union Box office. The formal is located at the Jefferson and buses will pick up from the Jackson Avenue Center. Dress is semi-formal. There will be food, live music and a lot of fun! Come out and celebrate homecoming with your Ole Miss family.
