The Week 6 AP Poll has been released.

There has been some shakeup at the top of the poll thanks to three Top 10 teams going down over the weekend.

Three SEC teams entered the weekend undefeated, and thanks to a miracle Hail Mary pass, all three survived unscathed and are now ranked in the Top 10 in the latest AP Poll. That won’t be the case in a weeks time, as Tennessee and Texas A&M will face off in College Station this weekend. Meanwhile, Alabama faces a serious threat having to travel to Arkansas this week.

Updated SEC kickoff times, TV programming through Week 7

SEC-Football-logo-e1403887502996.jpgThe SEC has just announced the kickoff times and television coverage for each Week 7 league game.

The marquee games of the Oct. 15 weekend include some interesting notes:

The big game of the weekend features Alabama travelling to Knoxville to take on Tennessee. The Tide currently have a nine-game win streak in the annual series, having last lost to the Vols in 2006 when Phillip Fulmer coached Tennessee; Alabama was led by Mike Shula back then. Both teams currently have the nation’s longest active winning streaks entering Week 6 – Alabama (17) and Tennessee (11).

The other game of note on the schedule features Ole Miss’ trip to Arkansas. Of course, last season’s game was won in overtime by the Razorbacks thanks in large part to the “Henry Heave” on fourth-and-25. The last time Ole Miss played in Fayetteville, the Rebels were shut out 30-0 by the Hogs. This year, the Rebels will be coming off a bye, while Arkansas will be coming off a game against Alabama.

Ole Miss defensive back Zedrick Woods following the Rebels’ win over the Memphis Tigers…

One of the biggest stars in the Rebels’ 48-28 victory over Memphis Saturday night was sophomore free safety Zedrick Woods.

The Lake City (Fla.) native snagged two interceptions and returned one for a 31-yard touchdown, resulting in his first career score. The pick six by Woods was the second-straight game the Rebels returned an interception for a touchdown.

Following a highly contested match Sunday night against Arkansas, in which sophomore right side Kathryn Cather led the Rebels to their first SEC win of the season, the Hoover, Alabama native was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week Monday.

This marks the first SEC weekly honor for Cather, who ranks sixth in the SEC with a .358 hitting percentage and second in hitting percentage (.551) for SEC matches only. Cather’s 163 kills are attributed to her 10.2 vertical, a huge component of the Rebels 12-4 record.

Sunday night, Cather recorded a career-high 20 kills on a .621 clip, marking her third straight match to break her personal record and hit above .400. She also added 3 service aces, 5 digs and 3 blocks to take the program’s third consecutive win against Arkansas.

Ole Miss will continue at home this week as they look to add more digits to the left side of their conference record. The Rebels will face LSU on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. and Texas A&M Sunday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.

Former Ole Miss All-American tight end Kris Mangum is one of 14 members of the 2016 Southeastern Conference Football Legends class, a collection of former football standouts who will be honored at events surrounding the SEC Football Championship Game in Atlanta in December.

The 2016 Football Legends Class includes 14 former stars who excelled on the gridiron and helped write the rich history of the sport at their respective institutions. This year’s class includes a Heisman Trophy winner, All-Americans, All-SEC selections and Academic All-Americans as well as NCAA and SEC record holders. The group represents teams that won National and SEC Championships and are represented in state, school and college football halls of fame.

A native of Magee, Mississippi, Mangum earned first team All-America honors in 1996 when he served as team captain for the Rebels. A two-time All-SEC selection, Mangum caught 74 passes for 729 yards and four touchdowns during his three seasons with the Rebels, averaging 9.9 yards per reception. He was named the 1996 SEC Most Outstanding Lineman by the Birmingham Monday Morning Quarterback Club, and he finished his collegiate career ranked second among Ole Miss tight ends in passes caught and third in receiving yards.

Mangum enjoyed a 10-year career in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers, retiring after the 2006 season as the fifth-leading receiver in franchise history with 151 catches for 1,424 yards and nine TDs and third in team history in games played with 126. He was inducted into the Ole Miss Athletics Hall of Fame in 2008.

The class will be honored at the 2016 SEC Football “Weekend of Champions” Dec. 2-3 in Atlanta, Ga. The annual SEC Legends Dinner presented by AT&T will be held Dec. 2 at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta and the group will also be recognized prior to the SEC Football Championship Game, which will be held at the Georgia Dome on Sat., Dec. 3.
