The Spaw: Full Service Doggie Day Spa Now Open in Oxford
Over the past eight years, Homeward Bound has moved into the hearts and homes of Oxford families with their pet nanny service and mobile pet Spaw. Now, in answer to the needs of Oxford pets, Homeward Bound has expanded to include a full-service doggie day spa.
The Spaw offers a variety of services including paw-dicures, brush outs, flea and tick treatment, skin soothing for itchy dogs and spa packages. All spa packages include double conditioning treatment, tooth brushing, condition paw pads, ear cleaning, blueberry facial scrub, nail trim and much more.
Kellie Owens, owner of Homeward Bound and the Spaw, has a passion for helping all animals feel loved, cared for and pampered. The Spaw, unlike most grooming services, treats the animals to a full spa experience the moment they arrive.
“We don’t have any cages or restraints,” Owens said. “We believe that the hands they feel on them at our spa should feel like the hands at home, loving and nurturing.”
While waiting for their spa treatments, the animals can relax in their own rooms with a flowing water bowl, soothing music and beds. Once it is time for their treatment, the animals are walked just across the hall to their spa room. The spa room includes a large bath, warm towels and soothing washes and scrubs.
The spa also offers a few moments of relaxation for the pet owners as well. Pet parents or nannies can wait outside in the tranquil garden next to the flowing fountain and have access to WiFi.
Homeward Bound offers services to most domestic animals and will also travel to the pet’s home to treat them with their mobile Spaw. In addition to their new day spa, Homeward Bound will continue to offer their full range of pet nanny services and in-home pet care services.
