The Ole Miss Rebels soccer team takes the pitch Sunday against host school South Alabama. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
Ole Miss (4-1) took down Troy on Thursday, 5-2. Senior CeCe Kizer led the Rebels on offense against the Trojans with two in the net. Her teammates Channing Foster, Haleigh Stackpole and Marisa Kutchma each scored a goal apiece.
Kizer’s two goals extended her lead for the national lead in goals, giving the senior seven on the young season.
South Alabama comes into the week with a 2-1 overall record, including 1-1 at home. The Jaguars registered back-to-back wins to open their season, including an impressive 6-1 but feel Sunday against Mississippi State, 3-0.
Ole Miss leads by a slim margin in the all-time series against South Alabama at 3-2, falling in the only previous meeting in Mobile. The series has been a back-and-forth affair, with Ole Miss holding the longest streak at just two matches.
