Ole Miss midfielder CeCe Kizer is adding yet another accolade to her resume following her final season on the pitch playing for the red and blue. On Tuesday, she was tabbed to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Best XI third team.
This is Kizer’s second-consecutive season receiving Best XI status by TopDrawerSoccer.com after landing on the Second Team a season ago. The award is one of numerous bestowed to the midfielder following her senior campaign, in addition to a United Soccer Coaches All-America nod and First Team All-SEC honors.
Concluding one of the most prolific careers that Ole Miss soccer has ever seen, Kizer scored 13 times in 2018, adding nine assists to help lead Ole Miss to an NCAA Tournament bid for the third time in her career. The senior finished the regular season as the SEC leader in both goals and assists, becoming the second player in league history to do so.
Kizer capped her career in Oxford as a first-ever, two-time All-American. The Overland Park, Kansas native reeled in USC All-Region and All-SEC First Team honors three times in her career. She also became Ole Miss’ first-ever recipient of the Senior CLASS Award—presented each year to the outstanding senior NCAA Division I Student-Athlete of the Year across nine different sports—earlier this year.
